After reviewing your current work, we can help you strategize your pieces to maximize their impact. In addition to critiquing your work, we may also assign additional projects to further enhance your portfolio content, as well as recommend specific extra-curricular activities and summer art programs to build on your strengths and increase content.

Most art schools will also request a resume and artist statements to accompany your portfolio. Because we offer comprehensive portfolio preparation services, we can assist you in crafting compelling statements and creative resumes.

Available Counseling Plans

In addition to hourly sessions for art consultation, Portfolio College Counseling offers three counseling plans to fit the various timelines and budgets of our clientele.

For a flat fee, an art consultant will meet with you to provide an assessment and written critique of your existing work or portfolio. In addition to highlighting your strengths and weaknesses, they will provide you with valuable insight on how to enhance your work and further develop your portfolio. The consultant will also review your college list and make recommendations on specific courses.

The Targeted Plan is perfect for those who are seeking counseling for a specific task only, such as college list generation, essay assistance or portfolio preparation for art college. Around 6 –10 hours are set aside with a counselor to work on achieving your targeted goal.

Our Comprehensive Plan is ideal for both art and non-art high school and college students. Our counselors will spend time learning about your goals and outlining applicable objectives. Based on their consultation with the student and their parents, they will coordinate services to meet the students’ needs. Typically, this plan encompasses between 20 – 40 hours of personalized consultation.
