Debra Sokolow | Portfolio Advisor

Debra Sokolow is an artist and educator with deep expertise in architecture, design, and the development of visual arts curriculum. She has built discipline-based art programs and has extensive experience guiding teens and adults in creating strong, competitive art and design portfolios for college admissions and professional growth.

As an exhibiting artist, Debra’s work has been shown locally and nationally, spanning realism to abstract expressionism across a range of media. Her practice explores light, form, and space—interests that also shape her teaching and mentorship.

Debra is the recipient of a California Arts Council grant and a Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship, and she remains actively involved in community-focused arts organizations. She is passionate about helping PCC students experiment with new design approaches, strengthen their artistic skills, and develop innovative creative solutions.

Finding the right college counselor is the key step in a successful college planning process. To help decide whether our services are the best path forward for students, we offer a 20-minute, complimentary phone meeting to introduce ourselves, get to know you and explain our process. Afterward, we’ll prepare a written proposal to outline our plan for working with you, that includes a suggested sequence and associated fees. Each plan for counseling is customized, based on the student’s abilities, skills and educational objectives.
